Curbstone Mould Instructions

  • Coat entire mould with a thin layer of release agent (especially the corners and vertical sides.
  • Cast mould to the brim with concrete (wet mix).
  • Agitate to remove any air bubbles and allow to set (take care not to damage internal vertical sides).
  • When concrete has set, invert and de-mould.
  • Keep stone moist until cured.

Tile Mould Instructions

  • Coat entire mould with a thin layer of release agent (especially the corners and vertical sides).
  • Cast mould to the brim with concrete (wet mix but not too wet which will cause excessive shrinkage).
  • Mix should be 1:4 (cement : river sand works well. However, if you add small stones (6-9mm) this improves the strength of the tile.
  • Keep wet while setting (important as the tile is only 18mm thick and water is used up quite readily.
  • When concrete has set (leave overnight) invert and de-mould.
  • To cure your tiles, the best is to place the tiles in a basin of water for 4 to 5 days. 

Maxi Brick Instructions

  • Cut off tabs with a knife.
  • Slowly move sides of mould up and down to stress the Polypropylene hinges. (if this is done, the mould should last a long time).
  • Assemble using tabs to lock the mould together.
  • Coat entire mould with a thin layer of release agent (especially around the cavity forms).
  • Cast mould to the brim with concrete (wet mix but not too wet which will cause excessive shrinkage, especially around the cavity forms).
  • Agitate to remove any bubbles and allow brick to set.
  • When concrete has set, invert and remove tabs to disassemble. Now de-mould.
  • If a damp mix is used so that de-moulding can take place immediately, ensure that mould is not damaged or distorted when tamping down the mix in the mould.
  • Keep brick moist until cured.
